Brain surgery usually means large cuts and a slow recovery. However, a 63-year-old man was discharged just two days after a major brain tumor surgery, thanks to a highly advanced technique at Ujala Cygnus Rainbow Hospital, Agra.

Led by Dr. Kunj Bihari Saraswat, Head of Neurosurgery, the team successfully performed the region’s first "Neuronavigation-Guided Key-Hole Brain Surgery."

The patient was brought in critical condition, suffering from severe headaches, sudden shaking, and unconsciousness. Scans revealed a dangerous brain tumor. Instead of traditional open-brain surgery, Dr. Saraswat used Neuronavigation.

Neuronavigation is like an accurate GPS system for the brain," explained Dr. Saraswat. "It guides the surgeon exactly to the tumor, avoiding damage to healthy brain parts. We only needed to make a small 5 cm skin cut and a tiny 2.5 cm hole in the bone to safely remove the tumor."

Because the surgery was minimally invasive, the patient's recovery was remarkably fast. He regained full consciousness and was breathing on his own immediately. He moved to a normal room the next day and went home just two days after the operation.
